Evening, how’s life?
I had a request from the guys in the the WhatsApp group to drop some of the people I follow on X and why, so that’s what we’re going to do today. It won’t be exhaustive and I’m not suggesting you should follow as well - as I said in the group, I follow some complete wrong’uns as part of my attempt to get a good vibe check, some of them will be on the list. If you’re not on X and have no intention of making an account, then go about your business, this edition isn’t for you. This might be a part one, I’ll do as many as will fit on a Substack article.
Should be obvious.
Bitcoin guy, has pretty sane takes most of the time and cuts through the froth.
A good indicator of where the sane part of what some people consider conspiracy theory is currently. Was ahead on COVID and Ukraine stuff.
Knows the climate emergency scam stuff back to front, sane head.
Good dude, has been on Hugh’s Podcast a couple of times. Good on DAOS and is still strong on the future and original intentions of crypto, sane head.
Human crystal ball, though you won’t always like what you see. Great inimitable takes on tech and the future. Author of The Network State I keep telling you to read.
German, good for non-slop takes on what’s going on in Germany.
Good dude, funny. Useful for getting a handle on culture with the US tech community.
Billionaire tech guy, wrote the first internet browser. Understands where tech can go in the dark place - listen to his recent Rogan appearance, he lays a lot of what Hugh and I have been saying for ages now, but he knows from being in the room.
Read his book it’s good. A node for sun, steal and vitalism, links to interesting studies that don’t align well with mainstream health advice. May offend.
Basically my Zen teacher since 2003.
Finance guy, bit rogue, good for the wilder bits of crypto and finance bro in-jokes. Understands where we are.
Labour Peer, gay, very sensible head, understands her job.
Good for US e/acc stuff and tech limit vibe checks.
Talks about his kid too much and likes to remind you that he’s Bi, but he’s good on law. Tries very hard not to be political when talking about it.
Irritating. I keep him around to see what the ‘Free Tommy’ mongs are being fed.
Probably doesn’t need saying. He’s a must follow and you should also subscribe to his substack. There’s ego there, but get past it.
Character on the internet right, Nietzschean, similar ball park to Raw Egg Nationalist but more interesting. Interesting monologues about greeks and great men from history. Good on Gay Race Communism. Get past the fake accent. Could offend.
Seems like a nice bloke, I follow as a mainstream back up to my thoughts about where the sensible gay community are.
Can be irritating, writes incredibly long winded threads. Blows hot and cold, when he’s right he’s very good, but when he’s not he’s too stubborn to see it. Currently helping write policy for The Homeland Party. Autist.
Internet right character, good posts generally.
US intelligence blob analyst. Generally pretty good, we’ll see where he takes his work when it’s Trump and not Biden in the chair.
Photographer, has got himself involved with Reform. Good to see what they want you to see.
May offend. Very hardline on remigration, I follow as he’s a weathervane to see what The Homeland Party will accept.
Good to see where the ‘it’s all a plan’ gang is. Occasionally has good takes.
Irritating. I follow to see where the ‘only extreme Islam is the problem, the Jews just point the finger at Islam to distract from what they’re up to’ gang are.
Had interesting takes all through the height of Gay Race Communism. You may not like what he says.
Bit mental, but interesting to see the opposite side of mainstream finance stuff. BRICS supporter.
Ex academic, can take a long time to ‘get’., I’ve had him blocked a couple of times. Proud Xenial, you may be turned off by his arrogance before you’re turned off by some of his views. He is however, arrogant for a reason. Opened my eyes about Churchill.
Crackers vitalist sun and steal guy. Said cancer was actually a good thing the other day, I follow to see where the sanity line is.
Has good takes on where we are.
Probably has a different view on what you’ve been told about much of history and ancestry.
That’ll do for a part one, I follow around 650 people so this obviously isn’t even vaguely exhaustive. As I’ve tried to warn at the start, there’s a few people there that may really offend you and make you genuinely angry - but that’s reality. If you want a feed on where people’s heads are and why, you need to listen to them. If you do choose to follow any of them, I’d suggest giving them some time to bed in. Posts that can confuse initially can make sense later down the line when you’re used to their worldview.
The weekend is nearly here. HOLD ON!
