Morning, last day before it all starts again, make the most of it!
This two minutes is worth a listen just to give you a nice reminder of the mindset those invested in the success of the current regimes in the West have. He’s talking about removing dissenting voices, the right to question the official narrative, and control where you get your information from. He admits that it’s very hard in the modern day to ‘govern and build consensus’. The translation of this is ‘ensure we remain in control by controlling the sources of truth’. He’s admitting they’re losing control and makes clear that something should be done about it, even using the phrase “hammer it out of existence”. Of course it’s wrapped up in language about protecting Democracy. But democracy no longer means to them what it means for you. To you it means the right to vote to choose your representative and have a hand in steering your country in the direction you believe it should go in order to improve the lives of you and those you care about. To them democracy means protecting the status quo and all they’ve built to gain from it. It’s just another code word to be used in public conversation freely, that has a different meaning to those listening dependant on whether you understand the translation or not, just as we’ve seen with ‘communities’.
