Morning! The weekend has arrived.
Here’s one for the serving guys amongst you, is this cool? Seems to me the initial mistake she made among others, was letting them in the house. I thought it was a wind up at first, but Merseyside Police confirmed they visited. Now when I ask ‘is this cool’, I know that potentially the officers haven’t broken any rules here as she wasn’t arrested - you tell me - but is taking advantage of the naivety of the public concerning their rights ok? I mean she defo doesn’t have to let them in her house and she doesn’t have to talk to them either. Is it what we really want from police? Having to talk about and question what the police are allowed to do has never even crossed my mind until recently and I suspect that’s then same for the vast majority of the public. It actually makes me pretty sad that I have to try know this stuff now, it makes me feel like one of those auditor bellends. But I have to say that if police ever spoke to me now, that’s exactly how I’d have to act, I’d have my phone camera out and wouldn’t do anything I didn’t have to just to screw the nut and make their life easier, as I did in the past. Just as the police don’t know if I’m a dick, I don’t know if the officer I’m dealing with is a dick, so have to act defensively. Sad state of affairs. Just so you’re aware, I’ve had a quick scroll of this girls feed and there’s no doubt she’s on the right, not a crime yet, but I went back to the start of the year and there’s nothing posted or opinions expressed that I haven’t either shared similar or written about in Horizon Scan. When I talk about needing the Substack subscriptions as a backup in case they bin SEG, this is what I’m talking about 😅 Scary times - I wonder if anyone flaps and unsubscribes?
