Morning, well I’ve not looked at the feed yet, but I’d imagine it’s a fallout from last night Trump, Harris debate, which I haven’t seen. So we may just have to embrace that and perhaps it’ll be a short one today.
Right well, from what I’ve seen one thing was pretty clear and to be honest exactly what was expected, Trump wasn’t debating Harris, he was debating the moderators while Harris pulled smug grins. I think even ABC’s own poll had Trump winning, I don’t think it actually matters though. Most peoples’ minds are made up at this point, nothing here was going to change anything in a dramatic way, unless she fell to pieces. The complete Harris meltdown a la Biden didn’t happen, which is a win for her, but mere survival is not enough. Anyone watching honestly will find it hard not to admit she was held up by the moderators, who were using her talking points - this is how they got round her request that she be allowed notes - get the moderators to do that for her in the pretence of ‘fact checking’. That it wasn’t a complete melt down is going to present a problem though if her polls don’t change, if she wants to remain the candidate they’re going to have to start moving in the opposite direction. If you’re someone who would like her removed, you’re now thinking of how you can do it. Scandal seems the only way, lean into the drinking issue. But we’ll see.
