Morning, let’s see how much burnt down last night *opens X*
Right, well looking the feed we’re going to maybe do something a bit different this morning, I’m going to paste many more posts from X than usual, with a short point made after each one.
The vast, VAST majority in the UK feel that something isn’t right about where we are. Some people can articulate it and some people struggle to, people will also have differing reasons they point to about what is wrong. The government are not the country, many people seem to fallen in to a mindset that it is, but they are just the people we pay to run it for us. When we have a situation like we have now, where there is a huge part of the country whose views are not represented by a political party - you only have to look at the last election to see this - and you do not have to like those views, those may actually be abhorrent to you, but if those in power do not listen to the people they will pay the price. You are seeing that now. It only takes a spark.
What you see above is not the only example of this posted over the last 48 hrs. As I said yesterday, it is no accident that they will not use a current photo. There is a deliberate attempt to distract from the reality of what happened and to attempt to pull your heart strings and manipulate your emotions, that the killer was in some way just like any other child you knew and maybe this is all some freak occurrence. He was a week away from 18 when he did what he did, he was not an innocent child, the girls he murdered were. Of course the answer that will come back is ‘well this is the playbook we’ve used in the past to calm tensions after terrorist attacks, it works’, that’s true, don’t look back in anger about the Manchester bombings and all that, controlled spontaneity. Maybe it did work, but the public see it now for what it is, dishonest and manipulative. They want to be upset, they want to be angry, they want to ask questions, they want honesty and they want action. But what they have received is patronising gaslighting and accusations of extremism. As I sad yesterday and as the poster above says, the reaction by the government to the righteous anger and questions from the public has been so incompetent that it looks like provocation. In either case it’s exactly what has happened.
