Morning, I’ll do my best to be cheery today seeing as one reader in the WhatsApp group couldn’t face it yesterday!
Galloway obviously, but I think it’s a fair point. You can support Israeli foreign policy, respect the skills Mossad have and understand the effect these attacks will have strategically on their enemy, and still question whether you’re happy normalising something that could see a loved one of yours caught up in a fight that has nothing to do with them or you. There’s undoubted many Lebanese civilians who have a similar opinion today, although undoubtedly the fight is more relevant to them. I think it’s a messy move and as I said in the WhatsApp group yesterday, it’s dangerous at a time when there is growing antisemitism and questioning of history. I’ve spoken about it on Horizon Scan before, generations younger than us do not have the same historical scaffold and are happy to look outside it.
