His country is the opposite, a complete basket case that everyone wrote off and whilst I doubt it’s somewhere that everyone would want to swap their life in the West for just yet, the point is direction of travel. El Salvador is in the ascendance, he’s turned the tide. There was nothing to lose, so he’s been bold and it’s working. If he’s able to keep control of the country and be wise with his choice of international alliances, in 50-100 years his country has the potential to be something really special. They are timelines you need to be looking at if you want something great, our leaders look to the 24hr news cycle. A country like El Salvador will attract the kind of adventurous, high drive, high risk tolerant individuals that were attracted to places like Africa and the push into the west of the USA, all he need do is leverage the right incentives.
