Morning, if you’re someone miserable today because of yesterdays result I’m not sure what to tell you, it’s democracy. Even if you think the majority of people around you are stupid and have voted for something that will damage themselves, they’re allowed to, it’s the whole point.
There’s an X community note on a few posts that have pointed the above out to remind people that some states are still counting votes, which is fair enough, one to keep an eye on. The test now for some people will be are you willing to consider that something may have been very wrong about 2020 and a man and those who supported him - some now in prison and dead - were attacked, mocked and ridiculed for four years until the opportunity arose to make their voices heard again. It’s a big test, because it requires you to step outside what all the ‘sensible heads’ are saying, the people who you’re supposed to trust the judgement of. Is there not the tiniest part of you at this point that is unsure? A argument I’ve heard is that the populace were so PTSD ridden from the first four years of Trump that when the opportunity came around to beat him in 2020 and vote for Biden it motivated far more people to vote than ever before. OK, so assuming that’s correct - it’s not - surely given how much more dangerous Trump is this time around, seeing as his opponents have tried to jail him etc, it’s existential for him, then it’s obvious there’d have been similar numbers as back in 2024? But there aren’t. Maybe you hate Trump, many do, if those numbers were about your candidate you’d raise an eyebrow wouldn’t you? If you’re concerned about being an outsider or the only voice questioning a host of official narratives then I have good news for you, you’re not - and likely have never really been in the minority, the people who would silence your legitimate questions are.
