Morning, potentially a short one today as it’s my Birthday and I intend to vegetate most of the day.
No bump in Harris’s polling after the debate. Do I need to say anything?
Now obviously the guy didn’t walk out of prison and use his first few seconds of freedom to rape someone, despite the headline. The point is that it shows up the lack of scrutiny that’s actually taken place for the people being released. Or if there has been scrutiny, the incompetent level of decision making, there’s no good side to this. If the police still want to talk to this guy about offences he’s alleged to have committed, why would you put him back on the streets where could attempt to disappear?
As if it wasn’t obviously by now, there is no ‘blackhole’ when it comes to funding the UK’s interests, there is plenty of money. What there are is political decisions about how and where to prioritise spending it. On balance the government has decided that it would be better for us to burn £600 million in Ukraine than to help some pensioners see another spring.
Would you like some interesting data?
Inheritance Tax Receipts:
Before COVID-19:
In 2019/2020, the UK received a total of £6.1 billion in inheritance tax revenue
During COVID-19:
There was an increase in inheritance tax receipts during the pandemic, with £7.5 billion collected in 2021/2022.
This rise is attributed partly to a surge in deaths related to COVID-19 and increased property prices, which have pushed more estates into the inheritance tax threshold.
Unclaimed Pension Pots:
Before COVID-19:
In 2019, the UK's Pension Ombudsman estimated that £1.6 billion of pension savings were unclaimed.
During COVID-19:
The pandemic raised this amount to an estimated £20 billion worth of unclaimed pension savings in the UK.
Those numbers have now returned to pre-pandemic levels. Old people are expensive and for government, seeing them die makes and saves you money.
Less burden on the economy: With fewer retirees relying on public pensions and social services, there is less strain on the country's financial resources and infrastructure, rNHS etc.
Shift in workforce demographics: A younger population could potentially lead to an influx of new workers entering the job market, which could contribute to economic growth and increased tax revenues. This is obviously the fantasy we’re sold about immigration and why you’re expected to welcome all those randoms that are living at your expense in hotels.
Add to this that older people are more inclined to vote for right leaning parties due to their supposed reputation for financial responsibility and you can see why it’s possible to make the calculation that they’re simply more useful to the country dead than alive. I know you don’t want to think that’s even on the table, but it is.
Aidens’ Dad is a cunt. He speaks of people using his sons death for political purposes whilst doing exactly the same thing, but he’s too much of a fool to see it. He accuses people of racism despite starting his speech wishing his son had been killed by a different person based purely on the colour of their skin - how would that make any difference, unless you believe there are inherent differences between people that align with skin colour? Which he would surely deny. We know that there are departments within the security services who’s job is to visit families of politically sensitive crimes to help handle the publicity in the aftermath. Isn’t it odd that there is always a message of forgiveness and never rage at some of the reasons that may have contributed to deaths.
I thought this was AI when I first saw it, but it was a dodgy video. What you’re looking at here is a man who is just cognisant enough to know what’s been done to him and is capable of some final fuck you’s to those who coup’d him. Biden is famously a very arrogant man, imagine the rage he’s feeling at being tossed aside to make way for someone - and this is being fair to him - who doesn’t come close to his ability to operate throughout his career. Dude was around for a looong time and had what you’d have to call a successful career, prior to his brain turning to mush. Now he’s in the bin.
Elon basically saying here what I suggested when I wrote about the rise of the tech founders. Trump isn’t about being the best option, no one with a functioning brain truly thinks that, but him winning allows the start of something different due to who he brings into the political game. Those now in his camp have a vision to do things differently and solving problems, that’s in their nature, they don’t know how to do anything else. The current uni-party know this and fear it. This is why you’ve seen people like the anti-christ Dick Cheney and the rest of the 90’s/2000’s era Neocons coming out in support of Harris. The big guns would not be getting wheeled out, they wouldn’t lower themselves to do so, if they didn’t think there was a real possibility that much of the world they help to craft could change to their disfavour. You’re living in the world they built. Are you happy with it, or is it time to try something different?
Politics is in many cases just buying loyalty, but you have to ask yourself in the case of the UK in 2024, what type of people are having their loyalty bought and why? Do you feel like you’re in that group or not? If not, why not?
Have a good day.
Happy birthday big man; have a great one 🥳
